Hey, Teen Brittany: Listen Up. I've got some advice for you.
**This knowledge I'm spittin' is for any teenage girl, really... even in today's much-different world. Good advice is timeless, whether it's 2000 or 2020. So listen up.**
.) This is such a short time in your lifetime. Even though it is, in fact, your entire world in this moment, it will pass. You will learn that there's a whole world out there to explore. (Which you absolutely should explore!! Go!) Don't sweat the small stuff. The color of that prom dress won't actually really matter anyway.
.) Get out of that tanning bed. Like, right now.
.) Stop comparing yourself to those girls, and just be yourself! It's totally OK to be a smart person. Don't hide it. Or be ashamed. As you get older, you'll begin to realize just how scarce an intelligent person in the real world can be. Trust me when I say: Having brains is a good thing.
.) You will change so much in the next 10 years. You may not even recognize yourself. But you need to roll with it. Change is a good thing. You're slowly learning life lessons, and becoming the woman you're meant to be. Embrace it!
.) Love yourself already. You're awesome. Just like that.
.) Someday your sisters will literally be your best friends. You'll keep some of your best friends you have now until forever. You'll never speak to some again after the day you graduate. There will be plenty of other friendships that fall in between. And you'll eventually MAYBE even love your worst enemy! Appreciate all of these relationships in the moment. They're all a part of your journey, and are helping to shape you. Enjoy, but don't dwell!
.) Wear your seatbelt. Every time.
.) Appreciate your parents! I know you do. But do so even more. They totally have your back. It's quite impressive, really. They're literally you're biggest fans.
.) Boys are all the same. From age 16 to 99.
.) Take a minute to ENJOY and APPRECIATE this time in your life! It's so short. But it's pretty incredible.
.) College isn't for everyone.
.) You are absolutely, 100%, without a doubt, capable of any thing you decide you want to do. You only get one life. Don't waste any time thinking you can't have something. Or get something. You are just as worthy and capable as anybody else. Believe that. And start believing in yourself.
You're going to be so excited when you finally embrace your life, and find your true calling. Have some courage. It's all worth it. You're going to make yourself so so proud. Turns out, you've always been pretty Luxuriously Dope.
